Active Sport and Recreation Victoria Grants: Funding: Closing Date:

The Emergency Sporting Equipment Grant Program provides assistance to grassroots sport and active recreation clubs and organisations to replace or repair essential sporting and first aid equipment that has been lost or destroyed as a consequence of fire, flood, significant storms, theft or criminal damage.

The Aboriginal Sport Participation Grant Program provides grants to assist First Nations communities in Victoria to participate in Aboriginal sporting carnivals, buy sports uniforms and equipment as well as funding for travel and accommodation expenses for athletes to compete in state and national competitions.

Funding Category 1 – Aboriginal sporting carnivals and tournaments Grants of up to $2,500 per junior team with a maximum total of $15,000 and $1,500 per senior team, with a maximum total of $9,000, are available.

Funding Category 2 – Uniforms and/or equipment 
Grants of up to $1,000 per team and up to $250 per individual, with a maximum total of $6,000, are available.

Funding Category 3 – Athlete participation support 
Grants of up to $350 for Regional Selection, $550 for State Selection and $750 for National Competition Selection per individual (including athletes and coaches) are available.

The 2026-27Local Sports Infrastructure Fundis open to Victorian Local Government Authorities and Alpine Resorts Victoria, aiming to deliver new and upgraded community sports infrastructure across three streams: Community Facilities (up to $500,000), Community Sports Lighting (up to $250,000) or Planning (up to $40,000).

The Australian Government’s ‘Game On: Teaming Up for Climate Action’ program offers community sporting clubs grants of $25,000-$100,000 for projects that reduce energy bills using cleaner energy, and improve resilience to climate impacts.

Grants can support upgrades such as solar and battery systems, energy audits, efficient lighting and HVAC, and infrastructure to withstand extreme weather, with options for group applications across facilities.

The Local Sporting Champions grants provides financial assistance for competitors, coaches and officials aged 12-18 participating in state, national and international championships are available from the Australian Sports Commission. If successful, applicants will receive $500-$750. $500-750 N/A
