What is the aim of the event?

Vicsport’s third LGA forum for 2018 is about successful community engagement strategies to increase participation in sport and active recreation.

Local councils and sport organisations have a common goal – assisting the community to be healthier through increased physical activity. There is an increasing focus on tailoring programs to the needs of local communities, meaning consulting the community is not considered a bonus any more – many sport organisations, local governments and private businesses regard consulting with target groups as fundamental to success.

This forum will showcase examples from within the network of Victorian councils, highlighting successful approaches to community engagement in the sport & recreation setting.

To register for this event, click on the link below.This event is free for LGA members. If your LGA is not a Vicsport organisation member the ticket price will be $100. A tax invoice will be provided to you via email for the event. If your LGA becomes a Vicsport member prior to the event, the $100 ticket price will be waived.
