LGA Forum: Attracting Major Events

What is the aim of the event?

Victoria secures more than 70 sporting events for Melbourne and regional areas each year and over $80 million is invested to bolster the state’s bid to lure more major events.

This workshop is designed for Vicsport members (predominately Local Government) to hear from industry experts such as Sports Marketing Australia, Sport & Recreation Victoria & Visit Victoria (formerly Melbourne Major Events) to further understand:

• Benefits of securing Major Sporting Events (economic, social capital, legacy effects)
• How to secure events. Available funding and support resources
• Working with Sports, Stakeholders & commercial providers
• Sports Marketing Australia, Visit Victoria and Sport & Recreation Victoria will present on the day and will be available to answer questions

Event Registration

To register for this event, click on the link below.This event is free for LGA members. If your LGA is not a Vicsport organisation member the ticket price will be $100. A tax invoice will be provided to you via email for the event. If your LGA becomes a Vicsport member prior to the event, the $100 ticket price will be waived.
