Join us for the second governance workshop in a series of four aimed at existing and aspiring directors as well as CEOs and senior managers working in sport.

Governance Series Overview

Our Governance Workshop Series consists of four topics across four months. The second and fourth workshops will be held online while the third workshop will be held at Lander & Rogers' Melbourne office. This series is designed for CEO’s, senior managers and existing and aspiring directors in sport governance. You will hear from industry experts and current sport directors providing valuable information and case studies on a range of topics:

• #1: Board Policies and Procedures (3 April 2024).
• #2: Risk Management (8 May 2024) - online
• #3: Sport Integrity (6 June 2024) - at Lander & Rogers.
• #4: Diversity & Inclusion (July date TBC) - online

Workshop #2 - Risk Management

The second workshop in the series will be presented by Darren James from ND Risk & Crisis Solutions and Iain Roy from Sports Integrity & Governance Partners (SIGPA).

Darren is a risk, crisis, compliance and insurance professional with over 20 years’ global experience across the sport, infrastructure, heavy civil construction, renewable energy, finance and insurance sectors. Darren was the inaugural Head of Risk at Cricket Australia and now heads up his own consultancy. Darren is also a consultant at SIGPA.

Iain is the CEO of Sport Integrity Governance Partners (SIGPA). He was the founding Head of Integrity at Cricket Australia who personally investigated “Sandpapergate” in South Africa. Iain now works with sport and government clients on a range of sports integrity, governance and risk management matters. He has a particular interest in improving the capability of sporting organisations.

Topics covered will include:

• Risk Management for current and prospective directors.
• Risk concepts, practices and processes.
• Case studies to understand and embed risk concepts.
• Risk maturity-based guidance.
• Risk management plan development and implementation.
