Harassment & Discrimination
Harassment or discrimination of any nature, in any organisation, is unacceptable. Being subjected to harassment or discrimination undermines an individual's performance, self esteem and personal goals. Being seen as an organisation that does not promote a welcoming and inclusive environment free of harassment or discrimination, or that does not deal with an instance of harassment or discrimination in an appropriate manner can also have damaging consequences for sporting organisations.
Sporting organisations must recognise and understand the importance of developing clear guidelines on preventing harassment and discrimination, and must send a clear message that harassment or discrimination of any sort will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
In this section is information to assist clubs to develop appropriate policies and procedures for preventing harassment and discrimination, and for dealing with these issues should they arise.
