Understanding Lease and Hire Agreements

Recent research conducted by VicSport into understanding of insurance issues showed many community sport and active recreation groups who lease or hire council owned facilities did not fully understand all the terms and conditions of their lease or hire agreements. Given these facility access agreements are legally binding contracts this was an alarming finding.  To help assist community sport and active recreation groups better understand their facility access agreements, and to help clarify their responsibilities as a leasing organisation, VicSport, with funding support from the Victorian Property Fund on the Approval of the Minister for Consumer Affairs, developed the “Understanding Lease & Hire Agreements Guide for Sport & Active Recreation Clubs” resource.
