Drug & Alcohol Use

The use of illicit drugs and consumption of alcohol are problems affecting the community as a whole, including sporting bodies.

Sporting organisations, due to their extensive reach into the community, can play a key role in promoting positive values that discourage inappropriate drug use and alcohol consumption through the use of effective policies and codes of conduct.

In addition, the use of many performance enhancing substances is banned under a range of anti-doping codes both within Australia and internationally.

The following organisations have more information in regards to drug and alcohol use in regards to sport and physical activity.
